It was my pleasure to be invited to the Libya Local Team release party of Ubuntu 9.10 . The party was very exciting, and many Linux fans attended.
My colleague Mohammad Ayad, who arranged the whole event (thanx man), started with a brief about Ubuntu and some stats on how Ubuntu became the most known Linux distro, then he explained about the LoCo Team, and its responsibilities.
Then a presenter gave us a presnetation about the new changes in the release. and WOW it is really gonna be great expeirince for those who will try.
The last presentation was about the 3D desktop application Compiz, and it was really great to see that Linux desktop may got that crazy!
The last thing was the cutting the cake, which was decorated with Ubuntu Logo, I felt sorry for cutting such art 🙁 But it was delicious enough to forget that!
This is first time I join local activity, and it was great thing to see people loving Linux gathering and share opinions. Really great experience and I hope that will be more in future.
I’ll add some pictures when I get them.
Finally, I would like to thank Mohammad for giving me the chance to join this party, and for showing us such a wonderful place in the city I lived in for 28 years now, and it was my first time there. Yes, the party was held in Zemet Hotel, in Tripoli, Libya. in front of the Arch of Marcus Aurelius. So Mohammad, keep up the good work.
